Martin is co-founder and CEO at Yulplay. He supervises corporate vision, product design and business development.
Martin is an internet and ecommerce pioneer and a technology visionary. He boasts more than 20 years of experience in software development, product design, project management and Research and Development for startups and large reputable software organizations.
For most of his career, Martin worked in real-time transactional environments and complex networked systems. At the Montreal Stock Exchange, he was responsible for R&D when an innovative electronic trading platform was developed and consequently changed the way traditional exchanges worked.
He was then part of of Emergis’ founding team, a North-American publicly traded company and leader of ecommerce services for Finance and Health industries, sold to Telus in 2008. After 8 years at Emergis, Martin joined the team who built the digital marketing arm of tc media (a large North-American publisher). He was in charge of technology and was eventually overseeing R&D, Innovation and Business Development.
He also worked as a strategic consultant for Canadian and US corporations where technology was a key part of their growth strategy.
He owns a bachelor degree in computer science from Sherbrooke University.
In his spare time, Martin designs games and writes novels. He enjoys running, hockey, boxing and fishing. But mostly, competing with friends at Monopoly game.
He is a father of two girls.
FRANÇOIS BRISSETTe, phd.
LEAD SCIENTIFIQUE - ANALYTIQUE DE JEU & STATISTIQUES
Francois is responsible for game analytics and prediction engines. He makes sure all apps run state of the art statistical, probabilistic and prediction computational engines.
He has been a professor and research scientist at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) for 20 years, where he has conducted world-class research on the impacts of climate change on water resources. He has published close to 100 papers in international journals. His work has been cited by hundreds of scientists and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Throughout his work, he has developed high skill levels in probability, statistics and high-performance computing. He has always been a fan of advanced statistics and how they relate to real-world outcomes.
Francois owns a Bachelor in geology (Montreal University), a Bachelor in geological engineering (École Polytechnique de Montreal), a M.Sc. in volcanology (Montreal University), a Ph.D. in water resources engineering (McMaster University) and was a joint postdoctoral fellow at the Canadian Center for Inland Waters and McMaster University.
He loves the outdoor and endurance sports and has competed in over 100 multi-sport events including 8 Ironman triathlons. He is an avid backcountry skier and has recently completed the ‘haute route’, a legendary ski traverse from Chamonix to Zermatt.
He is the father of one boy.
Jean-Francois is co-founder and chief technology at Yulplay. He is responsible for the software development and operations of all products.
Jean-Francois is the creator of Atmosphere, the most popular asynchronous application development framework for enterprise Java. He worked more than 9 years at Sun Microsystems (now Oracle) and was a major contributor to Tomcat 5, GlassFish 1/2/3. Jean-Francois is also the creator of the Grizzly framework, the NIO front end used by GlassFish.
He is a renowned pioneer and author for asynchronous and real-time Architecture, event-driven architecture, highly concurrent client/server architecture, multi threaded server side programming, WebSockets and an acclaimed Open Source Contributor.
He owns a bachelor degree in Mathematics from Sherbrooke University.
Jean-Francois is an outdoor enthusiast. He enjoys cross-country skiing and drives his mountain bike everywhere.
He is the father of two girls and two boys.

July 9, 2015 - YULPLAY RECEIVES funding from Canadian Media Fund (CMF) IN FIRST ROUND OF EXPERIMENTAL STREAM.
(Toronto, July 9, 2015) – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced today that 22 interactive digital media projects received a total of $14.1M in funding as part of the first round of production support from the 2015-2016 Experimental Stream. The Experimental Stream encourages the creation of innovative, interactive digital media content and software applications.
Consumers will have access to a variety of new interactive digital media content including 16 games, 1 platform using virtual reality, 2 applications, and 3 websites. Of the 22 productions, 2 are from British Columbia, 1 from Manitoba, 1 from Newfoundland & Labrador, 5 from Ontario, and 13 from Québec.
Including this round of funding, the CMF has already provided more than $129.7M in production funding to 230 projects since the Experimental Stream was created in 2010.
Production support provides funding for the creation of a final, market-ready version of an eligible project and preliminary marketing and commercialization activities.

A jury of Canadian and international industry specialists evaluated the innovation and production team criteria of projects receiving production support. This round’s jury consisted of Michelle Blanc (Montréal); Michael Gubbins (Oxford, United Kingdom); Michael Longford (Toronto); Anita Ondine (Hobart, Australia); Sébastien Provencher (Montréal); Eliana de Siqueira Russi (São Paulo, Brazil); and Éric Viennot (Marseille, France). In the next few weeks, the CMF will announce projects receiving funds for development support and marketing support from the Experimental Stream.
